The company is a private entity primarily engaged in the production and sale of third generation headache tablets. It produces its products by means of fermentation and biosynthesis at its research and development center in narrow collaboration with Spanish Universities and some European Universities. With a production capacity of 400 tons per year, the company boasts a state-of-the-art production plant in Murcia Province which was constructed at a cost of 110 million ($129 million) with the participation of three Spanish investors (44 percent) and Anbics AG (54 percent), according to Christof A. Zuber, Bioferma's director general. The company sells its products in Europe, United States and Japan. The company was incorporated in 1999 and has its head office in Murcia, Spain.
